Problems for the individual
ADD and ADHD symptoms include being depressed, sad, restless, anxious, irritable, angry, annoying, forgetful, restless, argumentative, stressed, disorganized, argumentative, and fidgety. Also the person may have mood swings, panic attacks, few friends, a lack of focus/concentration, misbehavior.

Problems in family
An ADD or ADHD child or adult affects the whole family.  Nearly two thirds of parents divorce, or separate or experience marital distress – and almost half receives treatment for depression.  Over half of parents said it affected the family’s holiday, 76% their ability to visit friends and 82% shopping. Problems at school
ADHD can have profound affects in the classroom, in both academic results and in the child’s happiness at school. Problems include: Exams - lower marks than expected.  Maths - low calculation/reasoning ability.  Effort - intelligent, tries hard, lacks success.  Reading - low accuracy/speed/understanding.  Writing - poor spelling/handwriting.
